IMPORTANT FAQs:
Q: What can I do with my photos?
A: Plenty! Your licensing fee covers everything you need to market your listing beautifully — your website, MLS, social media, email campaigns, flyers, and marketing materials. Post them, share them, and show them off. That's what they're for!
Q: Can I use the photos for other commercial purposes?
A: The Base Package covers all your standard marketing and promotional needs. Dreaming bigger — like a magazine feature, paid advertising campaign, merchandise, or product packaging? I'd love to help make that happen! Those uses just require an expanded license, so reach out and I'll put together a simple quote.
Q: Can I edit or alter the images?
A: Your photos arrive fully edited, polished, and ready to shine, so there's nothing more to do! Basic cropping for social media is always fine. For anything beyond that, just check with me first — I take a lot of pride in how the final images represent both your listing and my work, and I'm always happy to help with special requests.
Q: Can I share the photos with my stager, builder, or other vendors?
A: I get this question a lot, and the answer is: Other Vendors/Stagers/Builders can absolutely contact me for their own rights usage! Photo licenses are personal to you, so vendors like stagers, builders, and designers need their own usage rights to legally use the images in their marketing through me. The good news? Cost-sharing makes this easy and affordable. Just tell me who'd like to use the photos, and I'll add them to your invoice at a simple per-vendor rate. Everyone gets beautiful images, everyone's covered legally, and nobody gets a surprise copyright letter. Win-win-win!
Q: What is the Instagram “hashtag” scam?
A: Clients should be aware of the "hashtag scam," where companies request photo usage via Instagram comments, asking for a specific hashtag (e.g., #YesCrate) to indicate consent. Responding with the hashtag may grant the company extensive rights to use the photo without compensation or acknowledgment to the photographer, resulting in copyright infringement. Proper handling of such inquiries is crucial: do not respond to these requests without consulting the photographer to ensure the brands agreement respects the photographer's copyright and compensates for the image's use. We provide information on photo rights and best practices to protect both the photographer's and client's interests.
